Who We Are
Operation Helping Hands is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization based out of Orange County, California with the goal to empower our community to give back by providing hygiene items and basic necessities to the homeless, housing insecure and those in need.
What We Do
Operation Helping Hands assembles over 2,000 backpacks a year filled with hygiene items and basic necessities for distribution to the local homeless population and shelters. OHH also provides yearly scholarships to housing insecure college students, so they can shift their attention away from rent and shelter challenges and focus on their educational goals.
How It Works
Your company has the opportunity to sponsor a preselected number of backpacks with you can then assemble as a team building experience. Once assembly is complete, your backpacks will be delivered to the local homeless community. The OHH team will assist in assembly preparation and provide all the supplies; we can either come to you, or host your team at our office. We will also oversee the assembly process while creating an environment conducive to building connections and culture on your team. OHH will provide transportation for your team members who choose to personally deliver the completed backpacks to the homeless. Alternatively, if you prefer, the OHH team will be responsible for delivery to the non profit/ shelter of your choice. We will work with you to find a date and time that is convenient for your schedule.
Cost Per Backpack
The opportunity described above is available at the price of $35 per backpack. The cost includes assembly support, supplies, and transportation for distribution (or delivery by OHH as described above). We hope that you will create a “give back” experience for your team while providing for the homeless in the community, and we thank you in advance for your assistance as OHH works to fulfill its mission.

Donors can donate money to help sponsor a college student by providing a monthly stipend towards their housing so that they can focus on their educational goal. Donor can also not only donate money to purchase the goods necessary but are encouraged to come help on assembly day to pack backpacks full of the essential items. The day following assembly day, adults are encouraged to chaperone and supervise as the youth personally deliver the backpacks to the homeless right on the streets from city to city spanning Los Angeles County, The Inland Empire, Orange County and San Diego County.
